Located in Roseville, the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) is where State Patrol, MnDOT Maintenance, and MnDOT Freeway Operations work together to quickly detect, respond to and remove incidents off of our freeway systems. This work is essential to maximize the efficiency of our roads. This presentation highlights the role the RTMC plays in managing daily traffic, incidents, and special events. Tour will begin promptly at 4 PM and last approximately 1 hour. Social hour to follow.
Brian Kary, RTMC Director of Traffic Operations
Brian Kary has worked with the Minnesota Department of Transportation since 1999. His work with the department has included working in Freeway Operations, Traffic Analysis, and Incident Management. In his current position, Mr. Kary oversees the daily operations of the Regional Transportation Management Center, which includes the MnPASS system, the FIRST program, ramp metering, and the freeway operations group. He also has oversight over the design and integration of new traffic management systems deployed for MnDOT.
